Pillow Recommendations

Our patients ask us all the time, “do you recommend a certain pillow?”

So we did some research and testing and here’s what we found.

Here is what we recommend based on our research and tested them out ourselves.

A good pillow is important for several reasons:
  1. Sleep + Quality: A full night’s sleep, no matter how you’re getting it is priority #1. Your pillow needs to be comfy and when your head hits it, your neck should relax.
  2. Spinal Alignment: Proper pillow support can help maintain proper spinal alignment, reducing the risk of back and neck pain. Many of us aren’t using the proper size pillow. If you are sleeping on a shoulder with an arm under your head, you’re probably not using a tall enough pillow.
  3. Allergen Control: Some people are allergic to peanuts, so don’t fill a bag with peanut butter.

It’s essential to choose a pillow that suits your sleeping position and personal preferences for the best results.

People are quick to blame their pillows for neck pain. As a general rule, it’s not the pillow, its not your mattress, its what you did the day or 2 before.

How does a chiropractic Adjustment work?

Chiropractic adjustments, also known as spinal adjustments, are manual manipulations of the spine by a licensed chiropractor. The goal is to improve the alignment and mobility of the spine, which can have several potential effects:

      1.    Pain Relief: Adjustments can help alleviate pain, especially in cases of back pain, neck pain, and headaches. By correcting misalignments in the spine, pressure on nerves and surrounding tissues can be reduced.
      2.    Improved Mobility: Adjustments can increase the range of motion in joints, making it easier to move and perform daily activities.
      3.    Enhanced Function: Chiropractors believe that spinal adjustments can promote better overall health by allowing the nervous system to function more efficiently. The nervous system controls all bodily functions, and when the spine is properly aligned, it may help with the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

Chiropractors use their hands or specialized tools to apply controlled force to specific areas of the spine. The adjustments may result in an audible “pop” or “crack,” which is the release of gas or fluid in the joint space.

It’s important to note that chiropractic care isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. The effectiveness of chiropractic adjustments can vary from person to person, and it’s essential to consult with a qualified chiropractor to determine if it’s the right treatment for your specific condition.
